Systems Engineer
Mohamed Mohamed
Building things at the intersection of hardware, networks, and data — from sensor systems at work to a fully self-hosted homelab at home.
About
I'm a Systems Application Engineer at SICK Inc. working with industrial sensors, automation, and TCP/IP networks. Outside of work I run a personal homelab — a full self-hosted infrastructure stack covering media, photos, notes, VPN, and websites — all on Docker and Linux. I'm also an Islamic studies teacher, fluent in English and Somali, and hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

Friend group website — Hommies Empire Club
Designed, deployed, and maintain a WordPress site for a friend group at hommiesempire.ddns.net. Built on a hardened Docker stack with pinned images, automated nightly backups to NAS, and SSL via Nginx Proxy Manager.
